I was very happy to see New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson on Keith Olbermann's show stating that the important border Governor's Conference will go on despite Arizona Governor Jan Brewer cancelling the event on her own.
Governor Richardson has a long history of diplomatic skills and has done more (in my opinion) to help people understand the issues which concern not only Hispanics but all Americans!
You will find within these blog pages my views on current political events and news of the day.

"the only thing we have to fear...."
President Franklin Roosevelt's words from his first Inaugural Address ring just as true today as they did back in 1933 at the height of the Great Depression. There are those today who are trying to spread unnecessary fear by taking advantage of real concerns and blowing them all out of proportion.
Cult Leader Limbaugh, Half-term Governor Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and many others in the Republican and Tea Parties are using the "fear factor" to try and make Americans believe that the U.S. has been "taken over" by socialists, Marxists and every other type of "ist" imaginable. These are the very same self-serving tactics that were used by the likes of Senator Joseph McCarthy (I still can't believe he was from Wisconsin!!) who saw Communists under every rock and President George W. Bush who (after 9/11) saw terrorists under those very same rocks!! Yes, these were real circumstances with a grain of truth to them, but were completely blown out of proportion for their own selfish purposes.
These methods will ONLY work if gullible people give in to those fears. Their brainwashing will only succeed if you allow it to.

Welcome to the Wolf's Lair!!
I'm a liberal and proud of it!the! I believe in freedom of (or from) religion. The former "religious right", the Tea Party, "Birthers". et. al. are in my opinion doing more to bring discourse and violence to these United States.
You'll find that I disagree completely with the likes of Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh (who I have and will call "Cult Leader" Limbaugh) and Michael Steele. It's my opinion that these people (and I use that word with reservation) are inciting their minions to rebel unnecessarily against perceived "government takeover". How many times have you seen the clip of the woman tearfully bemoaning "I want my country back!!"? Who took it? And where did they go with it? So far it seems to be in the same place on the map that it's ALWAYS been. We still have the right to vote and elect our representatives. No one has taken that away. Whatever happened to the belief that you could criticize the President of the United States but actually respected the office to which that person was duly elected?
